Aston Martin DBX SUV Is On Test

Another super luxury SUV to tempt you is coming in 2020

Later this year, Aston Martin will proudly present the production-ready version of its first SUV, the DBX. Rising to meet the competition head on, this SUV will be priced closer to the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentyaga but will have the dimensions closer to the Porsche Cayenne and Maserati Levante.

The DBX promises to take Aston Martin’s qualities into another realm, blending the dynamics and elegance of a classic GT car with unprecedented levels of flexibility, endurance and ability.

The DBX marks Aston Martin’s first foray into the Sports Utility sector; it will also be the first series production car to come off the line at St Athan, the state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in South Wales that will also house the forthcoming Lagonda brand.

The DBX is still under wraps, but currently undergoing extensive development testing in a range of demanding environments, from the ice-bound roads of Pirelli’s R&D Sottozero Centre at the Flurheden Proving Ground, close to the Arctic Circle in Sweden, to the relentless heat and dust of the Middle East and the tough terrain of a Welsh Rally stage.

The fleet of pre-production prototype DBXs are also being subjected to the dynamic complexities of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, thanks to the team at the AMR Nürburgring Performance Centre.

This state-of-the-art facility also offers easy access to Germany’s autobahn network, an essential part of the testing process for any long-distance, high-speed touring car.
