Auto Bavaria Delivers First BMW i3s in Malaysia
Less than a month after its launch, and four months after being previewed, the all-electric BMW i3s gets its first Malaysian owner. It was Auto Bavaria Penang that delivered the car to Mr. Lim Chau Wei at the unveiling of a new BMW i Charging facility in Hotel G Kelawai in Penang.
The BMW i3s is priced at RM279,000 and can be purchased through BMW’s Balloon Financing Plan from RM3,188 a month (80% loan, 5 year tenure). It gets a 184hp/270Nm synchronous electric motor with an all-electric range of 260km. It gets from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 160km/h.

Auto Bavaria, the largest authorised dealership group representing the BMW brand in Malaysia recently delivered the first premium pure electric
vehicle, the BMW i3s to its first customer in Malaysia.
The first-ever BMW i3s was delivered to Mr. Lim Chau Wei at a vehicle handover ceremony held with Auto Bavaria Penang and in conjunction with the unveiling of the new BMW i Charging Facility at Hotel G Kelawai in Penang.
Wong Loke Win, the Dealer Principal of Auto Bavaria Penang said, “Today marks another milestone for us at Auto Bavaria as the sole distributor of BMW i in Malaysia. We are extremely excited to deliver our first BMW i3s to Mr. Lim Chau Wei. Mr. Lim and his family members are loyal supporter of the BMW brand but more than this, they have a futurist mind set in choosing to be early adopters of the mobility of the future.”
Wong added that with Auto Bavaria’s current sales and aftersales capabilities for BMW i, BMW i customers in Malaysia can be assured with excellent day to day support for their BMW i vehicle which includes service and maintenance as well as the expansion of BMW i charging facilities in the country.

Occupying a total built up space of up to 256 sqft on level B1 of Hotel G Kelawai Penang, the Auto Bavaria BMW i Charging Facility features two BMW charging stations with the newest BMW i brand identity and features. The charging facility enables ease of use and every day, on-the-go charging a seamless and convenient part of owning a BMW i pure electric vehicle
or BMW i Performance plug-in hybrid vehicle.
Auto Bavaria Penang are the recent winners of the BMW Excellence Club Award in the Platinum Category for its outstanding achievement in year 2018.
