Volkswagen Arteon priced from RM290k to RM310k
Volkswagen dealers around Malaysia is now accepting pre-bookings for Volkswagen’s stylish new flagship, the VW Arteon. This is an avant-garde gran turismo with svelte fastback styling. The new five-door, five-seat Volkswagen Arteon is priced between RM290,000 and RM310,000 when it launches in a few months and it will be fully imported.
This VW Arteon sits above the Passat saloon in the current Volkswagen passenger cars line-up. The car is a rival to the likes of the Audi A5 Sportback, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C Class and the Jaguar XE.
With a length of 4,862 mm, width of 1,871 mm and a height of 1,450 mm the Volkswagen Arteon is proportioned to carry five people in considerable comfort, while the generous wheelbase of 2,837 mm allows best-in-class legroom of 1,016 mm. Luggage space is 563 litres with the rear seats in place, rising to a cavernous 1,557 litres of available carrying capacity when the rear seats are folded.
Bristling with advanced technology, including the debut of a number of newly enhanced assistance systems, the Arteon is efficient and powerful with a distinct performance character, yet it is also a comfortable and relaxing drive.
Built for speed, the Arteon is powered by a 2.0L TSI turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed wet clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG). Its impressive output of 280PS and torque of 350Nm between 5,100 to 6,500rpm is transferred via 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
4MOTION is Volkswagen’s permanent all-wheel drive system. It distributes the engine’s power to all four wheels by means of an all-wheel drive coupling, subject to the demands of the driving situation. 4MOTION offers a high level of active safety, reliable traction and optimal directional stability at all times. The all-wheel drive system operates together with the car’s handling control systems such as ESC, ASR and EDS.
Equipped with the new Active Info Display with high-resolution display colour thin-film transistor (TFT), the new setting allows for customization and full map view. The new Discover Pro infotainment system runs through a 9.2-inch screen fitted with gesture control and Wireless App-Connect (CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink). For added convenience, a new 360-degree area view camera enables drivers to see the surroundings of the car through four discreetly integrated cameras.
The Arteon comes fitted with both interior and exterior R-Line styling package and is available in eight colours – Manganese Grey, Deep Black, Reflex Silver, Romance Red, Urano Grey, Turmeric Yellow, Oryx White Pearl and Pyrite Silver.
