Assembly Services Sdn. Bhd.

Assembly Services Sdn. Bhd. (ASSB) is a subsidiary of UMW Toyota Motor, the local assembler of Toyota passenger and commercial vehicles. The advanced facilities and professionally trained experts meet the demands of Toyota’s global standards. By continuously investing in human resources and advanced facilities, we can contribute to the development of the automobile manufacturing in Malaysia.

The legendary reputation of Toyota vehicles for reliability is the result of Toyota Motor Corporation’s passion for quality and focus on customers. At each stage of the manufacturing process, we take every step to ensure that our vehicles are in compliance with our quality specifications. Besides that, Toyota has instilled the Quality and Kaizen mindset amongst the ASSB employees following the Toyota Way culture and values. This enables us to continue to provide our customers with quality products and services that Toyota has long been known for.

As part of its continuous improvement efforts, ASSB upgraded its hydraulic paint pump system to an electrical pump system to achieve more consistent paint quality. Improvements were also made to the plant’s paint shop and welding processes to decrease volatile organic compound (VOC) emission and water usage to reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

Automotive Industries Sdn. Bhd.

Automotive Industries Sdn. Bhd. (AISB) is a leading automotive parts manufacturer, specialising in the production of various exhaust systems and automotive components. The three core products manufactured by AISB are exhaust systems, catalytic converters and reinforced instrument panels.

The new plant, AISB Plant 2, was completed in 2015. AISB’s production capacity has since increased, allowing the company to further diversify its product range to include automotive door sash, impact beams and sports bar.

AISB has a strong commitment to Research & Development (R&D) and culture of excellence. The commitment is apparent from its permanent R&D partnership with Sankei Industry of Japan which began since 1985. AISB has also adopted Toyota Production System (TPS) initiatives to continually improve its standard processes and procedures in order to ensure maximum quality, improve efficiency and eliminate waste.

Toyota Boshoku UMW Sdn. Bhd. (TBU)

Toyota Boshoku UMW Sdn. Bhd., a joint venture with Toyota Boshoku Corporation, Japan is currently manufacturing and assembling car seat, door trim, headlining, pad roof silencer, package tray, pad package tray and tool bag for all Toyota cars assembled by ASSB as well as Hino commercial vehicles by using the Just-In-Time (JIT) method. In addition to that, TBU is currently preparing for the new Innovative International Multi-Purpose Vehicle (IMV) models and plant upgrade in the form of new seat assembly conveyor, foam in place conveyor and installation of numerical control cutting machines.

TBU’s strong commitment to deliver exceptional quality products that surpass the client’s expectation was proven with the attainment of ISO 9001:2008 in 2005.
