Sunway Smart Parking Allows You to Enter a Car Park Without a Ticket
Sunway today held a media preview of its Smart Parking system at the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre.
The smart parking system uses a license plate recognition technology and is supported by multiple e-wallet partners including GrabPay, Boost, WeChat Pay, Alipay,Touch N’ Go Digital, and Maybank QR alongside credit partners MasterCard, Visa, American Express, JCB, UnionPay, and MyDebit.
The cashless and ticketless parking experience is part of Sunway’s digitalisation journey to enable hassle-free experiences for its shoppers. The system is also said to reduce the carbon footprint of all shoppers, in line with Sunway’s commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Sunway Smart Parking will be deployed within Sunway City, which comprises Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Hotels and Menara Sunway. Currently, the system is online for season parkers and will be rolled out to the public in Q1 2020.
To use the system, drivers will need to register their car plate number through the Sunway Parking portal and make sure the number is linked to a participating e-wallet for payment. This will enable them to move in and out of Sunway properties without any hassle.
When registered shoppers enter the properties, their car plates will be scanned by the licence plate recognition system. Once it has been identified, the parking boom gate will automatically lift and they can be on their way
For shoppers who do not use any e-wallets or do not have internet access, they can opt to pay with the Touch ‘n’ Go card or through the auto payment system for this period to allow time for adoption.
Additionally, shoppers who register their car plate numbers during the pre-registration period will get the chance to enjoy a one-time free parking when it is open to public.
