GrabBike is Available in Parts of Kuala Lumpur Now

After years of back and forth, Grab has finally found a way to launch their bike ride sharing service in Malaysia. The service will be undergoing a 6 month trial and here are some of the facts we know.

Only four drop off areas can use the service:

  • KLCC
  • Bukit Bintang
  • Pudu
  • Chow Kit

The fare is structured as follows:

  • Base fare: RM3.70
  • Service fee: RM0.30
  • 3km-5.5km: RM0.55 per additional km
  • 5.5km and above: RM1 per additional km
  • Cancellation fee: RM2 if you cancel 5 minutes after booking or if driver waits more than 2 minutes for you

Safety/other tips:

  • Not recommended when raining
  • Only takes 1 passenger
  • Helmet will be provided but you may bring your own optionally
BHP

We headed to Chow Kit for lunch today to grab a screenshot for ourselves:

Other bike ride hailing apps like Dego Ride and Gojek are trialing their services in Malaysia as well.
