Porsche Asia Pacific Sales Up 41% in 2019

Porsche Asia Pacific has announced that in 2019 a total of 3,025 vehicles were delivered in the region, a 41% increase compared to the 2,147 vehicles sold in 2018.

Thailand emerged as the best performing market with 922 cars delivered, followed by Singapore with 591 units while Vietnam recorded 326 units. Having been included in the ranks of Porsche Asia Pacific last year, New Zealand did well with 415 units sold.

The brand’s SUV lineup saw significant growth with more than 1,000 units sold for each model. Out of the 1,070 units of the Cayenne delivered in the region last year, 53% of them were the plug-in hybrid model. The Macan grew by 84% with 1,090 units sold.

The iconic Porsche 911 continued to fascinate with 352 units handed over to customers, recording a 16% increase. Customers received 312 vehicles of the Panamera and 201 vehicles of the 718 series.

“2019 was a momentous year for Porsche Asia Pacific. The strong performance across markets was a result of the attractive product portfolio, which stirred customer excitement for the Porsche brand and sports cars. Our success was also possible because of the strengthened market and business development strategy built together with our business partners in the region,” said Arthur Willmann, Managing Director of Porsche Asia Pacific.

For 2020, Porsche is entering the era of electromobility with its first all-electric vehicle, the Taycan. In the name of sustainable sporting mobility, the automaker will also compete in Formula E for the first time in the region, namely in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Fans can also look forward to Porsche Carrera Cup Asia events in Vietnam (Hanoi Street Circuit), on top of the races in Singapore (Marina Bay Street Circuit), Malaysia (Sepang International Circuit) and Thailand (Bangsaen Street Circuit and Chang International Circuit.
