BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR Now Available in Malaysia

BMW Motorrad Malaysia has launched two new models, namely the BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR. This strengthens their line-up of mid-range motorcycles in the Roadster and Adventure segments.

The F 900 R arrives in Style Sport with a particularly sporty seating position. It is available in San Marino Blue metallic and Style Sport in Hockenheim Silver metallic/Racing Red, along with a passenger seat cover.

On the other hand, the F 900 XR is offered in Style Exclusive featuring Galvanic Gold metallic with central tank cover and radiator cover in Granite Grey Metallic Matt. Its active yet relaxed riding position is specifically developed for touring and travelling. It also features hand guards from the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories, as well as an adjustable windshield, centre stand and suitcase holder.

Both models are powered by the same 895 cc, two-cylinder inline engine that makes 105 hp at 8,750 rpm, and 92 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine was first introduced in 2018 with the F 850 GS.

In addition to the standard anti-hopping clutch, both bikes can be equipped with engine drag torque control (MSR) and Shift Assistant Pro, which enables the 6-speed transmission to be shifted up and down quickly without clutch actuation.

Other standard equipment includes Rain and Road riding modes and Automatic Stability Control (ASC). Available as an ex works option, the Riding Modes Pro offers additional riding modes such as Dynamic and Dynamic Pro, along with the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC).

For connectivity, the F 900 R and F 900 XR both get a large 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen that can be operated via the Multi-Controller on the left handlebar.

The retail prices (on the road, without insurance, and with BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s All-New 3-Year Warranty and 3-Year Roadside Assistance Programmes) start at RM62,500 for the F 900 R and RM69,500 for the F 900 XR.
