Honda BR-V 2020 model coming next week

Did you think Honda Malaysia was going to forget about launching this refreshed version?

The very popular Honda BR-V now gets a mid-life refresh. Coming to all Honda Malaysia showrooms next week, this refreshed family lifestyle vehicle replaces the current model which now has no competition. Its only rival used to be the Toyota Sienta and UMW Toyota has decided months ago to discontinue the Toyota Sienta.

This 2020 Honda BR-V facelift is already late in its arrival in Malaysia as Thailand and Indonesia have already launched it months ago. This BR-V gets a revised fascia with black bar across the nose to replace the previous chrome bar, while there is still a thin chrome strip linking the headlamps.

The projector headlamps are now accompanied by new LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The front bumper also gets design tweaks with new fog lamp surrounds and a redesigned & expanded silver skid plate.

There are very small changes at the rear of this BR-V. You will notice a revised looking silver diffuser section and bumper side borders that now gets vertical reflectors. The reflectors were previously mounted at the lowest part of the bumper, plus there are new 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels that give it a better stance.

On the inside of this BR-V it still offers 3-row seating for 7 persons. This 2020 BR-V dashboard design and steering wheel remains, but there are new tweeter speakers and new dashboard trim. The top spec BR-V gets black leather-trimmed seats with red inserts matched with red leather pads on the door armrests, leather wrapping for the steering as well as gear knob, with red stitching.

The second-row seat is a 60:40 split folding with one-motion tumble type that can be moved forward and backward for easy access for third-row passengers, plus a three-level reclining backrest. The third-row seat offers generous legroom and is a 50:50 split one-motion fold-and-tumble type to provide maximum rear storage space. The rear air conditioner ensures good air flow to all areas of the cabin.

Honda continues to provide features that offer the best in comfort for every journey, including indicators that illuminate in white light, a Multi-Information Display (MID) screen showing fuel efficiency information, premium technologies you can control with a simple touch such as a 7-inch touchscreen display that supports both iOS and Android devices, easy audio-visual connection via HDMI, USB, and AUX sockets, Bluetooth telephone connectivity, and many standard safety features to ensure every journey is safe.

There are some new equipment included in this 2020 Honda BR-V facelift. It starts with an 8-inch capacitive touch screen head unit with WebLink and there is now keyless entry with push start ignition. This BR-V continues to be powered by the Honda SOHC 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine that delivers 117hp and 145Nm paired to a CVT. The new model also comes in a new Passion Red Pearl color which is shared right here.
