Mercedes-AMG A45 4MATIC+ Edition 1 In Malaysia for RM460K
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia digitally launched 3 compact AMG models today over Youtube Live and Facebook Live video. The three models are:
- Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Edition 1
- Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ Edition 1
- Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+
The A 45 S 4MATIC+ Edition 1 comes in today, the 2nd generation model of its kind. Its more powerful than ever, built from the ground up to achieve new heights in performance.
The all-new M139 4-cylinder turbocharged 2-litre engine is the most powerful production engine of its class, with 421hp and 500Nm of torque on tap. Compared to the outgoing A45, this one has 40 more horsepower and 25 Nm more torque.
This engine is hand-built in Affalterbach using AMGs one-man, one-engine principle. The M139 is reverse-mounted compared to previous models, placing the exhaust manifold and turbocharge at the rear of the engine bay, which is better for overall aerodynamics and engine bay air flow. It uses NANOSLIDE technology within the piston linings for minimal friction.
Sending this power to all four wheels is an 8-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT Dual Clutch Transmission with manual gear selection and different drive programmes through AMG DYNAMIC SELECT. The engine and transmission combination allows the A45 S to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and hit a top speed fo 270km/h.
Fully variable all-wheel drive in the 4MATIC+ system and AMG TORQUE CONTROL allow the A45 S to powerslide like a rear-wheel drive vehicle while in DRIFT mode. Two electronically controlled multidisc clutches connected to the rear axle drive shaft allow for power to be distributed not just between rear and front axles, but also between the two rear wheels.
The A45 S 4MATIC+ has a slight price disadvantage over the CLA 45 S due to it being equipped with the limited Edition 1 package. This also adds the AMG Aerodynamics package and AMG Night package. The 5-door hatchback is finished in sun yellow with designo mountain grey magno decals and graphics providing contrast. This colour scheme can be reversed if Malaysian customers desire.
The vehicle comes in 19″ 5-twin spoke aero wheels in matt black with decorative wheel caps in a central-locking look.
