2021 Ram 1500 TRX Takes the Fight to Ford F-150 Raptor

Another powerful pickup truck has landed in the United States and this time it’s the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. Ram calls it the “quickest, fastest and most powerful mass-produced truck in the world” and we can’t argue with that.

Under the hood, there is a 6.2-litre supercharged Hemi V8 engine that blows its closest rival, the Ford F-150 Raptor, out of the water with an output of 702 hp and 881 Nm of torque.

Thanks to the TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission that is connected to a four-wheel-drive system, the Ram TRX is capable of sprinting from 0 to 96 km/h in just 4.5 seconds before maxing out at 190 km/h.

Straight line performance aside, this truck is really built to take on the most challenging off-road terrains out there. Its list of weaponry includes Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, a Dana 60 solid rear axle and a full-time active transfer case with strengthened internals, to name a few.

An approach angle of 30.2 degrees, breakover angle of 21.9 degrees, departure angle of 23.5 degrees and a ground clearance of 11.8 inches allow the Ram TRX to go anywhere.

The Ram TRX is built in Michigan and will enter the US market later this year with a starting price of $69,995. There will be a Launch Edition that comes with additional goodies such as beadlock-capable wheels, a panoramic roof, a Harman Kardon audio system with 19 speakers and Anvil Grey exterior paint. Only 702 units of the Lanuch Edition will be offered to customers.
