PRESS RELEASE

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today launched the all-new Tiguan Allspace line-up, in an SUV offensive that is set to make waves in the local SUV segment. Two variants are available; the Tiguan Allspace Highline 1.4TSI and the Tiguan Allspace R-Line 2.0TSI, both locally assembled at the Volkswagen plant in Pekan, Pahang.

An extended wheelbase version of the Tiguan, the Allspace sports bespoke front and rear ends. The exterior is accentuated with a significantly higher bonnet position with precise and sharper lines that run across the bonnet and front bumper giving it a stronger stance.

The longer wheelbase of the Tiguan Allspace makes the assertive-looking SUV a true space giant, offering versatility with multiple seat configurations. With the third-row seats folded, the available boot space is at 700 litres and with both seat rows folded, the SUV offers a massive boot space of 1,775 litres, the best in its segment.

The seven-seater combines dynamic performance, authentic off-road experience and embodies the new Volkswagen SUV DNA, making it extremely versatile with a high appeal factor.

True to its R-Line legacy, the Tiguan Allspace R-Line is a performance SUV, and its aggressive stance, coupled with 19” Sebring alloy wheels, commands attention on- and off- the road. It offers the highest power and torque in its class, thanks to an impressive output of 220PS and torque of 350Nm, and its capabilities are enhanced with a 4Motion all-wheel drive system. The interior is no less impressive, with the best connectivity features such as a Digital Cockpit and 9.2” Discover Pro infotainment system.

The Volkswagen R-Line variants take inspiration from the Volkswagen performance R range. The R-Line range is a sporty styling package fitted onto the vehicle to give it an extra edge in creating an overall sportier look while maintaining great value.

Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM says that the growing SUV market in Malaysia offers a ripe opportunity for the Tiguan Allspace. “The SUV segment in Malaysia has grown by 65% and we believe it will continue to drive and lead the auto market. With the addition of the two Tiguan Allspace variants, Volkswagen will be able to cater to different SUV seekers by offering them a German engineered seven-seater option, with performance that is unrivaled.”

A global bestseller for Volkswagen, the Tiguan broke barriers when it hit the sixth million mark in 2019 and became the best-selling model for the Volkswagen group in the same year. Now, a brand-new Tiguan rolls off the production line somewhere on the globe every 35 seconds. Bookings and test drive arrangements can be made at all authorized Volkswagen dealerships nationwide.
