Audi e-tron GT Premiers, Set To Take On Tesla Model S

Audi has been rather aggressive with their electrification strategy. They were among the first of the big three German premium marques to reveal and start selling a fully-electric SUV, which they called the “e-tron”. It went into production in 2020 and was accompanied by an “e-tron Sportback”, which took the SUV in a new design direction. Now, they’ve got a direct competitor to the Tesla Model S with an all-new electric platform called the “e-tron GT“.

The overall design of the Audi e-tron GT can trace its roots back to the Audi Prologue concept in 2014/15. But the final shape of the 4-door coupé was first teased in March 2018, and it wasn’t long before the model went into its prototype phase. Well, Audi has finally figured things out and here are some details about the new e-tron GT and its variants.

Audi e-tron GT specs

It shared components with the Porsche Taycan
there are two main versions of the car, the standard e-tron GT quattro and the performance-oriented RS e-tron GT
Both versions use two permanently excited synchronous motors (one on each axle)

The Audi e-tron GT quattro has 476PS and 630Nm of torque total system output under normal situations. In boost mode, this goes up temporarily to 530PS and 640Nm.
