As suggested by the name, the Trident 660 is powered by an all-new 660 cc, triple-cylinder engine that makes 81 PS @ 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque @ 6,250 rpm. It’s no Rocket 3 but the bike promises exciting acceleration with 90% of its peak torque available across the rev range. Power is transferred to the wheel via a six-speed transmission with a slipper and assist clutch.

At the core of the Trident 660 is a tubular steel perimeter frame, mated to a Showa 41mm upside down separate function forks (SFF) and a monoshock rear suspension unit with preload adjustment. The bike tips the scales at 185 kg, while the seat is positioned 805 mm from the ground. The seat has a deep foam construction providing comfort for both the rider and pillion without compromising on the style.

Meanwhile, the braking system comprises of twin 310 mm floating discs with two-piston sliding calipers at the front, and a single 255 mm with a single-piston caliper at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard. The bike rides on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels wrapped with 120/70 and 180/55 front and rear tyres, respectively.

As for electronics, the Trident 660 is equipped with Road and Rain riding modes, adjustable traction control and ride-by-wire throttle. There is also a colour TFT-LCD screen with reverse monochrome “white-on-black” display. By connecting their smartphones to the screen with the optional My Triumph Connectivity System module, riders can gain access to turn-by turn navigation, GoPro control as well as music playback.

Elsewhere, the Trident 660 also features front and rear LED lights, and 14-litre fuel tank. It can be had in Crystal White with Diablo Red lines and Jet Black decals, or Sapphire Black with Aluminium Silver decals and Diablo Red accents. There are also two premium colours to choose from, namely Silver Ice/Diablo Red and Stealthy Matt Jet Black/Matt Silver Ice. They are available for an additional charge of RM100.

The Trident 660 has a 16,000-km service interval, promising lower cost of ownership. Like any other Triumph motorcycles, it comes with a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
