Honda City RS Pricing Confirmed: RM106K

The Honda City RS e:HEV gets a price months after its initial launch.

When Honda Malaysia first launched the new City in October 2020, we became the first market globally to have an e:HEV powered City. However, the pricing of this City RS model was not announced at the date of launch, so all that could be done was to wait and collect bookings in the meantime.

Now, nearly 5 months later, Honda Malaysia finally has a price for the car and it’s RM105,950… Pretty steep, but this is a very high-spec car with a very different sort of hybrid propulsion system. Here’s a quick breakdown of all the additional equipment you get on the City RS versus the City V model.

eHEV Powertrain

This powertrain uses a different 1.5-litre petrol engine as part of its hybrid system. The other City models use a direct injection 1.5-litre petrol engine to drive the wheels. Here, the engine is port injected and uses the Atkinson-cycle. It also drives the wheels at higher speeds ONLY, most of the time, it serves as an electric generator and the wheels are driven by an electric motor instead. The system output for this vehicle is 108PS and 253Nm of torque and it gets 3.77L/100km.

Additional Equipment

This is also the only 5th generation City to get a 7” semi digital instrument cluster and an Electric Parking Brake with Brake Hold. It also has disk brakes at the rear.

The RS model has its own bodykit and exterior and interior appointments. These include:

  • Gloss black front grille
  • Gloss black wing mirrors
  • Gloss black trunk spoiler
  • Honeycomb lower front grille
  • Aggressive Front foglight garnish
  • Sporty rear bumper diffuser
  • Dual-tone 16” alloy wheels
  • Piano Black paint trim
  • Red stitching
  • Leather/suede combination seats with red stitching
  • Red illumination on some dashboard elements
  • Redesigned centre tunnel
