Harley-Davidson Sportster S Launched In Malaysia From RM92,900
Heralding a new era of the Sportster series
Didi Resources Sdn Bhd has launched the all-new Harley-Davidson Sportster S in Malaysia, three months after it was introduced on a global stage. The ‘sport custom’ motorcycle is priced at RM92,900 and will be available for viewing at Harley-Davidson’s Open House from 30 to 31 October 2021.
Following in the footsteps of the Pan America, the Sportster S utilises the new Revolution Max 1250T liquid-cooled V-twin engine that generates 121 hp and 125 Nm of torque. According to Harley-Davidson, the engine is tuned to produce ample torque at low RPM, with a torque curve that stays flat through the powerband, all the way to its 9,500 rpm redline.
In addition, a high-mount 2-into-1-into-2 exhaust system makes a pleasing low-frequency tone, while the use of lightweight materials helps achieve a desirable power-to-weight ratio. Speaking of which, the Sportster S tips the scale at 228 kg with its 11.8-litre fuel tank topped off.
As for the chassis, the Sportster S comes with fully-adjustable 43 mm Showa inverted forks and a Showa piggyback reservoir rear shock mated to a steel trellis swingarm with a braced design and stamped X-member. It rides on staggered five-spoke cast aluminium wheels wrapped in Dunlop GT503 rubbers.
Meanwhile, the braking system comprises a radial monoblock four-piston calliper with a 320 mm disc at the front, and two-piston calliper with a 260 mm disc at the rear. Both the callipers are from Brembo.
On the electronics front, the Sportster S is equipped with a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) which incorporates features such as Cornering ABS, Cornering Traction Control System, Cornering Drag Torque Slip Control System, as well as Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
There are also four riding modes (Road, Sport, Rain and Custom) and a round 4.0-inch TFT display which can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth.

The Sportster™ S motorcycle is powered by the 121-horsepower Revolution™ Max 1250T V-Twin engine which puts the Sportster™ S rider in command of unrelenting, on-demand torque, while a taut, lightweight chassis and premium suspension delivers responsive, intuitive handling. It is equipped with a host of technologies designed to the enhance the riding experience. Three pre-programmed, selectable Ride Modes (Sport, Road and Rain) electronically control the performance characteristics of the motorcycle, and the level of technology intervention is presented on a round, 4.0-inch-diameter TFT screen. The screen also displays all instrumentation and supports infotainment generated by the rider’s Bluetooth®-equipped mobile device and helmet headset, including music, incoming and out-going calls.
With its amplified performance and array of technology, style is not compromised. The Sportster™ S appears crouched and powerful with the fuel tank and tail section frame the engine as the predominate centerpiece of the motorcycle. The massive front tire recalls the fenderless front end of a classic bobber, while the tail section, high-mount exhaust and slim solo seat draw inspiration from the Harley-Davidson XR750 flat tracker. The thick inverted forks and wide-profile tires suggest high-performance sport bike. Riders can choose from a range of colours including: Vivid Black; Stone Washed White Pearl; Midnight Crimson.
