Bridgestone Potenza Sport Flagship UHP Tyre Now In Malaysia
This is the tyre that is factory fitted on the Maserati MC20 and Lamborghini Huracan STO
Bridgestone Tyre Sales (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. has officially launched the new Bridgestone Potenza Sport ultra-high-performance tyre, which takes over from the Potenza S007A as the new flagship model in the Potenza range.
Designed for sports sedans and SUVs as well as supercars, the Potenza Sport offers exceptional cornering and straight-line stability through new and innovative technologies in tread pattern design, compound and construction.
In essence, there are three key features that make the Potenza Sport what it is. First up is the asymmetric wall angle, which reduces tyre deformation during hard cornering, in turn improving steering precision and response.
Up next is the Potenza Sport’s sporty, extra-wide profile that maximises the contact area with the road, enhancing tyre grip and stability. Finally, innovative 3D sipes are applied to the tyre tread pattern design to increase stiffness and improve braking and abrasion resistance.
On top of these features, the Potenza Sport has a compound that contains an optimised formula that is combined with innovative mixing technology to improve its wet and dry handling performances.
It is worth noting that the Potenza Sport is fitted as original equipment on the Maserati MC20 and Lamborghini Huracán STO, so if it’s good enough for these Italian machines, it’s probably good enough for your car.

Bridgestone today debuts its new flagship POTENZA tyre – POTENZA Sport. Representing the spirit of Better Never Settles, POTENZA Sport is engineered using state-of-the-art tyre technologies and offers superior road holding performance.
POTENZA Sport inherits and enhances key performance characteristics from tyres across the POTENZA family. It sets a new standard in premium and high-end sport performance with its exceptional cornering and straight line stability, offering drivers outstanding control on both dry and wet road conditions.
POTENZA Sport features various new and innovative technologies in tread pattern design, compound and construction. Innovative 3D sipes are applied to the tyre tread pattern design to increase shear stiffness, as well as to improve and enhance braking and abrasion resistance. The compound contains an optimized formula that is combined with innovative mixing technology to improve the tyre’s wet and dry handling performances. Bridgestone also deployed a new hybrid crown reinforcement to maximise tyre stability at high speed. A sporty carcass package is also applied to increase stability and steering response, while optimising rolling resistance.
During the tyre design and development stage, virtual tyre development technology played a critical role in enabling Bridgestone to accurately predict the tyre’s performance without having to physically produce and test it. This has the dual benefits of being more environmentally-friendly due to the reduced amount of resources required, as well as shortening the duration of the development process, accelerating time-to-market.
