Aprilia Tuareg 660 Now In Malaysia For RM75,900

Looking for a middleweight adventure bike? Here’s one that will excite you

Launched alongside the SR GT today is the new Aprilia Tuareg 660 middleweight adventure motorcycle, which comes with an introductory price of RM75,900. It comes in as Aprilia’s third offering the 660 range after the RS 660 and Tuono 660, both of which made their Malaysian debut in 2021.

The Tuareg 660 is powered by the same 659 cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine found in the RS 660 but for this application, the mill has been tuned down to 80 hp at 9,250 rpm and 70 Nm at 6,500 rpm. A six-speed transmission with a multiplate wet clutch with slipper system ensures the power gets to the ground efficiently.

Like its fully-faired sibling, the Tuareg 660 comes with the Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) suite of electronic systems that consists of traction control, engine braking, engine maps, cruise control and a multi-map ABS. There are four riding modes on board, all of which can be accessed through a fully-digital display.

As for the hardware, the suspension system comprises a 43-mm fork as well as a rear monoshock connected to an aluminium swingarm. Both are fully adjustable Kayaba units. The bike is equipped with spoked wheels measuring 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear.

When it comes to stopping, the Tuareg 660 relies on double 300 mm discs with a dual-piston Brembo floating calliper up front and a single 260 mm disc with a single-piston Brembo calliper at the rear.

In terms of dimensions, the Tuareg 660 is 2,220 mm long and 965 wide, and has a wheelbase of 1,525 mm and a seat height of 860mm. The headstock angle is set at 26.7 degrees, while the trail measures 113.3 mm long. The fuel tank capacity is 18 litres with a 3-litre reserve, while the kerb weight is 204 kg.

For the Malaysian market, the Tuareg 660 is available in three colour schemes, namely Indaco Tagelmust, Acid Gold and Martian Red.
