Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Launched In South Africa
The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro SUV has been introduced to the South African market.
The Chery brand has been pushing hard in many export markets. Malaysia is sadly still lagging behind as the brand is still not ready to re-launch itself. In South Africa though, the company has just introduced their Tiggo 7 Pro model. This SUV slots between the Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro which are already available in that market. Chery Malaysia says this is one of the products is preparing for our market.
The Tiggo 7 Pro features an all-digital cockpit and the ‘Life in Motion’ design language which consists of a galaxy-inspired geometric matrix diamond front grille and long headlamps as well as an edge-to-edge light bar at the rear with a roof spoiler too. Dual faux exhausts are touted as a selling point of this design.
The Tiggo 7 Pro comes with 18″ alloy wheels with red brake callipers as an option. Standard features include electrically-adjustable and foldable side mirrors with integrated turn signals, automatic LED headlights and LED tai lights, illuminated side sills, fog lamps, keyless entry and start, a powered tailgate, and a synthetic leather interior with contrast stitching.
The driver seat features six-way power adjustments while the front passenger gets 4-way adjustment. A panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and ambient lighting are standard on this Chery SUV.
The aforementioned digital cabin features 3 screens, a 7″ instrument cluster, a 10.25″ centre infotainment system and another flush mounted screen for climate controls. Voice command is integrated into the Tiggo 7 Pro and it comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro sits on the T1X platform, which measures 4,500mm in length with a 2,670mm wheelbase. The boot offers 475L of cargo carrying capacity, expandable to 1,500L with the rear seats folded down. The powertrain consists of a 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine and a CVT with 9 virtual ratios. The engine is rated for 147PS and 210Nm of torque.
The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro has received 5 Stars on the Chinese NCAP. It features Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Monitoring as well as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems such as Lane Departure Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking. A 360-degree around-view monitor is available and the top spec model comes with 6 airbags.
In South Africa, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro comes packaged with a 5-year/60,000km service plan, a 5-year/150,000km general mechanical warranty and a 10-year/1,000,000km engine warranty. A 5-year roadside assistance programme is also offered.
