Honda Malaysia Recalls 2020-2022 City, City Hatchback, HR-V and BR-V Models

Honda Malaysia have issued a proactive product recall on certain models made in 2021 and 2022.

Honda Malaysia are taking steps to recall certain batches of their locally-assembled City, City Hatchback, HR-V and BR-V that were made between 2020 and 2022.

In total, just over 1,500 vehicles are affected:

Situation	Model Year Model	Units Affected
A City 2021 1,068
		City Hatchback	2022

B HR-V 2020 343
		BR-V 2021 116

Vehicles in Situation A will be subject to an inspection of the nut torque on the Alternating Current Generator (ACG). It is a precautionary safety measure to inspect the nut tightening on the ACG terminal of the engine harness. Poor terminal contact may lead to battery malfunction, leading to an engine halt while driving or being unable to start the engine after it stops. Over 1,000 units of the 2021 City sedan and the 2022 City Hatchback are affected.

Vehicles in Situation B will be subject to an inspection of the bolt earth grounding tightness. A loose bolt here may lead to poor terminal contact, resulting in the same issue of the engine halting while driving or being unable to start after the car stops. 343 units of the 2020 HR-V and 116 units of the 2021 Honda BR-V will be inspected.
