Toyota Veloz 1.5 AT Order Books Open In Malaysia – RM95,000

The all-new Toyota Veloz is now open for booking in Malaysia with estimated pricing of RM95,000. The 7-seater premium crossover, which was launched in Indonesia in November 2021 and in Thailand last February, will come as a replacement for the Avanza that has been on the market since 2004.
UMW Toyota Motor has yet to reveal the Veloz in full but we already know how it looks like, thanks to the aforementioned launches. Unlike in Thailand, however, it seems that we’re getting the Veloz in a sole 1.5 AT variant, in locally-assembled (CKD) form.
First things first – powering the Veloz is the familiar 2NR-VE 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, the same unit found in the Perodua Myvi and most likely the upcoming Alza as well. Likewise, outputs are channeled to the front wheels via a CVT with a seven-speed sequential mode.
Equipment-wise, the Veloz will come with LED headlamps with sequential turn signals and daytime running lights, roof rails and 17-inch alloy wheels. Five colours are available, namely Silver Metallic with Black roof, Blue Metallic with Black roof, White, Metallic Bluish Black and Red Metallic.
Inside, niceties include a 9-inch audio display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7-inch colour Multi-Info Display (MID), electronic parking brake, multiple USB charging ports, 12V outlets and a Qi wireless charging pad. Cargo space is rated at a generous 498 litres with the third row seats folded down.
On the safety front, the Veloz is fitted with Toyota Safety Sense which comprises a number of driver assistance features including the Pre-Collision System (PCS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Also on board is Toyota’s Vehicle Telematics System (VTS).

The locally assembled (CKD) All-New Toyota Veloz replaces the Toyota Avanza in the Malaysian B segment MPV market. The Toyota Avanza was introduced locally in 2004 and UMW Toyota Motor has sold over 178,000 units.
