All-New Perodua Alza Open For Booking From RM62K To RM75K

The new Perodua Alza is now open for booking, and early buyers will benefit from the SST break.

For months now, Malaysians have been awaiting the arrival of the new Alza replacement model. The initial Perodua Alza has been in production ever since 2009 and has changed very little even with two facelifts and various minor improvements being introduced over the years. This all-new Perodua Alza brings an all-new chassis, engine, gearbox and loads of new tech. It’s the generational upgrade that compact MPV buyers have long been waiting for and order books are now finally open. This means that if you head to a Perodua showroom within the next week and book your new Alza, you might just be entitled to the ongoing sales tax break on locally-assembled vehicles. This is down to whether Perodua can deliver the car to you by March 2023.

“We took our time in designing this full model change as we truly wanted to understand what improvements our customers wanted, and the New Perodua Alza aims to fulfil these requests,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad said.

Perodua has indicated that the new Alza will be priced between RM62,000 and RM75,000. This is noticeable increase in price over the outgoing car, which started just below RM50,000 and peaked at RM60,000 for a fully-specced car. That being said, the new Alza is an entirely more complex vehicle with loads more safety features. The previous one had just 2 airbags and lacked even Stability Control on the top spec.

The new Alza will features Anti-lock Braking, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution with Brake Assist and even Vehicle Stability Control as standard. What’s more, Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) has been made standard as well, meaning the new Alza has Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Assist Brake with vehicle and pedestrian detection, Pedal Mis-operation Control, Front Vehicle Departure Alert, Auto High Beam, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Departure Prevention as standard. Airbag count has been increased to 6 on all variants. Rear disc brakes replace the rear drum brakes on the outgoing model for added stopping power.

Convenience features include rear air cond vents, “Leaving Home” lighting, Hill-start Assist, rear parking sensors and more as standard. Fabric seats are standard. The mid-spec Alza H adds on a reverse camera, front corner parking sensors, a 9″ Display Audio infotainment unit, a 7″ TFT multi info display, a rear armrest, auto folding wing mirrors, sequential turn signals in front, a Drive Mode selector with Normal, Eco and Power. The full-spec Alza AV features a 360⁰ Panoramic View Monitor, an Electronic Parking Brake, Auto Brake Hold, and two-tone leather seats.

“Above and beyond that, the New Perodua Alza’s fuel efficiency has also been improved with up to potentially 22KM per litre, which is among the best in its class (MPV),” he said.

Luggage capacity is 137 litres with the seats in use, but with the rearmost seats folded, it increases to 498 litres. Ground clearance now stands at 160mm.

The all-new Perodua Alza can be ordered in one of five colours: Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Garnet Red, Elegant Black (new) and Vintage Brown (new).
