EON And Petromin Team Up For Fast-Fit Vehicle Servicing In Malaysia
Petromin Express will be coming to Malaysia with EON soon for quick car servicing.
The aftersales services market is expanding in Malaysia and around the world. More and more customers are looking at these avenues for car servicing as their manufacturer warranty expires. Petromin Express of Saudi Arabia has formed a joint venture with DRB-HICOM’s EON to expand into this ‘fast-fit service’ industry in the Malaysian market. The automotive aftersales market in Malaysia generated RM42 billion in 2021 alone.
Petromin Express is already highly successful in Saudi Arabia. They will use their existing business model as a template for an 18-month pilot in Malaysia. Their aftersales services will be offered to all vehicles, but the primary target market is customers with vehicles aged between 5 and 10 years.
The joint-venture between Petromin and EON is split 51:49 between the two companies. The agreement was signed be EON’s CEO Akkbar Danial and Petromin’s Group CEO Kalyana Sivagnanam.
“We are indeed excited to partner with Petromin and expand our presence in the post warranty aftersales market, which will most definitely complement our existing OEM based aftersales businesses”, said Akkbar.
