Mitsubishi eK X EV Earns Top Rating In Vehicle Safety Performance 2022

This little Mitsubishi achieved this in the Car Assessment by JNCAP

Mitsubishi has announced that it’s all-new electric vehicle (EV), called the eK X EV (pronounced “eK ‘cross’ EV”) kei-car (a term for small compact cars in Japan) has earned the highest rating, a Five Star Award, in the Vehicle Safety Performance 2022 car assessment by Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP).

This is excellent news for the Japanese automaker as it remains committed to its safety-oriented philosophy. The end goal for Mitsubishi is to achieve a mobility society with zero traffic accidents through continued efforts to develop and spread safety technology and spread knowledge about traffic safety to all.

Moreover, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and National Agency for Automotive Safety & Victims’ Aid (NASVA) assess high sales volume cars for their safety then publish the results. This allows buyers to choose safer cars and encourages carmakers to build safer cars.

On top of that, only the cars that earn the highest points (A rank), just like the Mitsubishi eK X EV, in both collision safety performance and preventive safety performance, and are equipped with an automatic accident emergency call system will receive the “Five Star Award”, which represents the highest level of safety.

Additionally, the Mitsubishi eK X EV managed to gain this high safety rating due to a few typical Mitsubishi traits. This allowed the small Mitsubishi EV to score big in the Collision safety performance, Preventive safety performance and Automatic accident emergency call system categories. These are all factors Mitsubishi always tries to put first when making vehicles and it truly shows.

Furthermore, The Mitsubishi eK X EV is equipped with driver and passenger SRS airbags, front seat-mounted side SRS airbags, side curtain SRS airbags, and driver SRS knee airbag. That is a lot of airbags for such a small car and this gave it top marks in terms of collision safety performance.

In terms of preventative safety measures, the Mitsubishi eK X electric car has the industry best which combines nine Advanced Driver Assist (ADAS) features including a Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM), a Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) system, an Emergency Assist for Pedal Misapplication (EAPM) and many more practical systems.

Lastly, the Mitsubishi eK X EV covered the automatic accident emergency call system as it features an emergency call system to connect with HELPNET operation center at the press of a button during a medical emergency or when seemingly in danger and even automatically connects to a call centre in an accident.
