Toyota GR Corolla Arrives In Malaysia At RM355,000

UMW Toyota has introduced the first ever Toyota GR Corolla to the Malaysian market.

The latest addition to the GR range is the new GR Corolla, which joins the ranks of the GR Supra, GR86, and GR Yaris. Built on the foundation of the GR brand’s motorsport DNA, the GR Corolla offers driving enthusiasts exactly what they want – a high-performance hot hatch with agile and dynamic handling and sporty looks.

The GR Corolla features the G16E-GTS 1.6-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine from the GR Yaris, which has been enhanced to deliver 300 PS at 6,500 rpm and 370 Nm between 3,000 and 5,550 rpm. It is only available with an intelligent 6-speed manual transmission (iMT) and the GR-Four all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, which offers three drive modes and three AWD modes to customize performance according to road conditions or personal preference.

To improve grip and stability, especially in slippery conditions, the GR Corolla is equipped with a Torsen limited-slip differential on the front and rear axles, while the 18-inch black ENKEI alloy wheels are fitted with 235/40 high-performance Yokohama ADVAN Apex tires. The exterior of the GR Corolla is easily recognizable as a member of the GR family, with an aggressive profile, widened fender flares, a carbon fibre roof, functional bonnet vents, and sporty gloss-black accents.

Inside, the GR Corolla provides stylish comfort without compromising practicality and functionality. The black theme is complemented by red accents throughout the cabin, and the body-hugging front seats and cross-sectional shaped leather-wrapped steering wheel enhance operability and hand fit when driving. The 12.3-inch full digital instrument display and Head-Up Display provide instant information, while the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system offers wireless connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The GR Corolla also comes with comfort and convenience features such as dual-zone climate control, wireless charger with USB charging ports, smart entry and start, and a suite of active safety features integrated into the Toyota Safety Sense system. In the event of a severe accident, the car is equipped with seven SRS airbags. For added security, the GR Corolla has an optional Vehicle Telematics System to track its location in case of theft, and the front Digital Video Recorder (DVR) Toyota Premium Security and Solar Film feature is included as standard.

Colour options include Precious Metal, Super White 2, Emotional Red 2, and Black. Pricing in Peninsular Malaysia is set at RM355,000 On-The-Road without insurance.
