2023 Kia Sorento Arrives In Malaysia Priced From RM209,888

The Kia Sorento the second CKD Kia in Malaysia after the Kia Carnival

Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of the Kia brand in Malaysia has just unveiled its newest offering to the country, the all-new fourth generation, fully locally assembled (CKD) Kia Sorento and it can be had in either a6-seater or 7-seater configuration.

This news is even more exciting when one remembers that the all-new Kia Sorento is the winner of multiple awards such as the Car and Driver 2022 Editors’ Choice award and 2021 Red Dot awards. The car is now officially on sale here in Malaysia with a starting price of RM209,888.

Moreover, the 2023 Kia Sorento maintains the “refined boldness” concept of having a robust, tough-looking aesthetic, as well as a greater level of refinement, elegance and sportiness. This is done through the addition of the “tiger eyeline” LED daytime running lights which complements the signature Kia “tiger nose” grille very well.

The all-new 2023 Kia Sorento also looks far more menacing than before as it was designed to look longer, with shorter front and rear overhangs and a longer wheelbase when compared to its predecessor. The new Sorento measures 4,810mm-long, 1,900mm-wide and 1,695mm-tall with a 2,815mm wheelbase.

However, the exterior of the all-new Kia Sorento is not the only thing that has changed, the interior is also a huge step up from before. The car features a more modern layout with metallic trims, leather upholstery and embossed wood-effect surfaces and supreme spaciousness.

The driver display is now digital and measures 12.3 inches while the central infotainment screen is 10.25 inches and is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as bluetooth. There are also a total of 4 USB charging sockets in the second and third row.

The all-new 2023 Kia Sorento is not just more spacious and provides more space for people and luggage, it is also equipped with standard safety features and advanced safety features. 6 SRS airbags (Front Driver & Passenger, Side and Curtain), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD).

On to of that, the Kia Sorento also features Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Multi-Collision Brake Control (MCB), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) as well as ISOFIX Child Restraint Anchor Points and Top Tethers as standard in both 2-2-2 and 2-3-2 seat configuration models.

In terms of powertrain, the all-new Kia Sorento has 2 options. The base 7-seater variant comes equipped with the 2.5L ‘Smartstream’ 2WD petrol engine while the 6-seater car offers 2 powertrain choices, the 2.5L ‘Smartstream’ AWD petrol engine or the 2.2L ‘Smartstream’ AWD diesel engine.
