Lotus Emira i4 First Edition Open For Booking From RM998,800

The Lotus Emira i4 First Edition gets a special price for 2023 before a small price hike next year.

The highly-anticipated Lotus Emira i4 First Edition is now available to book in Malaysia. This is the AMG-sourced 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged version with the 8-soeed dual clutch automatic transmission, which is slotted right below the 3.5L V6 supercharged version. Fittingly, the Emira i4 First Edition comes in at a lower price tag. For the rest of 2023, it’s priced at RM998,800 on-the-road taxes included in Peninsular Malaysia. Next year, the price goes up to RM1,095,000. For context, the V6 version is priced at RM1,131,800 with no special promo pricing at launch last year.

Specification of the Lotus Emira i4 First Edition

Here’s a quick comparison between this newly introduced 2.0L model versus the 3.5L:

2.0L i4 twin-scroll turbocharged3.5L V6 Supercharged
Max power360 bhp400 bhp
Max torque430 Nm420 Nm (manual), 430 Nm (auto)
Top Speed290 km/h290 km/h
Acceleration (0-100km/h)4.4 s4.3 s (manual), 4.2 s (auto)
Gearbox8-speed DCT6-speed manual or 6-speed auto
CO2 Emissions (WLTP)~180 g/km258 g/km
Fuel Economy~9.8 l/100km11.3 l/100km

Both models offer very similar performance figures on paper, though the V6 will likely be a subjectively engaging experience especially with the manual option. That being said, the inline 4 offers a more efficient and less polluting drive experience better for daily use. Another difference with the AMG-sourced powertrain is a unique lightweight cast aluminium rear subframe with new rear suspension. The 2.0L model in hence 12kg lighter than the 3.5L, which is more in line with the Lotus philosophy of ‘adding lightness’.

  • Tour chassis with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tyres, Sport chassis with Michelie Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. Both with unique LTS markings on side-wall. Both staggered sizes (245/35R20 front, 295/30R20 rear)
