0ACO Tech Integrates Proton’s Headunits With Sarawak’s Pay & Go
ACO Tech work with Pay & Go to bring smart payment solutions to future Proton infotainment head units.
The world of cars has changed drastically over the years. Today, many cars are sold with internet connectivity integrated. Often this is done to enable Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, which improve vehicles without needing to bring them in for service at an authorised dealership. Other times, data is used to provide additional services. This is where ACO Tech comes in. They’re the ones supplying Proton’s latest infotainment systems and these are all connected to the internet to provide additional services. Today, ACO Tech announced that it was partnering up with Pay & Go, Sarawak’s homegrown smart payment solution.
The partnership will see future Proton vehicles being able to make online transactions via their ATLAS infotainment head unit using Sarawak’s Pay & Go system when parking. This system will be coming to selected Proton models equipped with Malaysia’s first dedicated automotive operating system, ATLAS OS. This will begin from today onward with the Proton X70 being outfitted directly from the factory with this feature. Other Proton X50, X70, and X90 models will receive this ability later on via OTA software updates.
How Pay & Go Works
Pay & Go is a smart parking solution being rolled out in Malaysia, starting with Kuching and parts of the Klang Valley. This platform allows drivers to make parking payments directly in-car via the infotainment system. This negates the need for physical parking tickets and allows users to make digital parking payments without pulling out their smartphone.
Just save your car’s number plate on your Pay & Go account and use credits purchased via the app to make payments directly from your car’s infotainment system.
ACO Tech Chief Executive Officer Mr. Li Pu said, “Central to ACO Tech solutions is our
innovation to provide convenience and enhance the overall driving experience for customers.
By collaborating with likeminded partners such as Pay & Go who have similar value
propositions, we now offer a customer-centric solution for parking via our IHU. The integration
of Pay & Go into ATLAS underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions to
our valued customers. We aim to make the driving experience more convenient and enjoyable
for motorists and will continue innovating to shape the future of automotive technology.”
Pay & Go Chief Executive Officer Mr. Eddie Wee said, “Pay & Go is more than just a Smart
Parking Solutions provider. Our value proposition is enabling lifestyle convenience for users.
We are delighted to collaborate with ACO Tech to integrate more of our in-car lifestyle solutions
in PROTON models to enhance overall customer experience. We have plans to roll out more
features in the ATLAS system such as eReservation for F&B and Parking Space Reservation,
among other things, in the near future.”
