Chery Eco Run 2024 Brings Together 3,400 Runners
The upcoming all-electric Omoda 5E was shown at the Chery Eco Run 2024.
The inaugural Chery Eco Run 2024 witnessed an impressive turnout of over 3,400 enthusiastic runners (including myself). Themed ‘A New Journey To A New Green Life,’ the event took place at Dataran Wawasan in Putrajaya, featuring two categories – the 5KM and the more challenging 10KM category. This remarkable event not only celebrated fitness and camaraderie but also marked a significant step towards a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
Inaugural Run Highlights
The 10KM category runners were flagged off by the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) YB Senator Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, alongside Chery Malaysia President Leo Chen. Remarkably, Minister Tengku Zafrul actively participated in the run, underlining the importance of embracing a healthier lifestyle. The 5KM category runners were flagged off by MITI Secretary General Dato’ Hairil Yahri Yaacob, adding an official touch to the event.

Leo Chen, the President of Chery Malaysia, expressed the brand’s commitment to integrating electric vehicles and green technology into the fabric of everyday life. Due to the overwhelming response, Chery Malaysia is now considering making the Chery Eco Run an annual event, cementing its place as a cornerstone in promoting health and environmental awareness.

Participants and visitors had the opportunity to explore Chery’s impressive fleet of vehicles, including the Omoda 5, Tiggo 8 Pro, and the soon-to-be-launched Omoda E5 – a pure electric car.
