Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric Now With 550KM Of Range In Malaysia
Volvo Car Malaysia updates the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric.
The all-electric Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric has been updated in Malaysia with more range and faster DC charging along with pixel headlight technology. These were updates that debuted globally about a year ago alongside rear-wheel drive models for other markets. While the global debut also featured changes to the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, it looks like only the C40 will be getting the update in Malaysia. The name change to EC40 has not been put into effect in Malaysia yet.
Here are the changes to the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric in Malaysia.
- more powerful 300kW powertrain
- new 2nd gen permanent magnet rear electric motor
- new 117kW asynchronous electric motor on the front axle
- larger battery pack
- 82kWh battery pack, replacing 78kWh pack
- faster DC charging
- maximum input of 200kW
- 10-80% charging speed of just 27 minutes
- improved range of 550km, up by 100km
- new headlight package
- pixel LED headlights
- utilise sensors to control forward lighting
- capable of adjusting brightness for specific areas to avoid blinding oncoming traffic
- new 19″ alloy wheels with reduced drag
- new exterior colour option – Vapour Grey
- existing options carried forward: Onyx Black, Crystal White, Fjord Blue and Sage Green
“These updates are another big step in our work towards becoming a fully electric car maker
by 2030,” said Javier Varela, Volvo Cars’ chief operating officer and deputy chief executive.
“Range and charging times are new key factors for more and more of our customers, and
these improvements make our fully electric models even more attractive than they already
were.”
The Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric comes with 5 years of complimentary Digital Services. These include access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play Store and Volvo Cars app with its remote functions.
Pricing of the upgraded Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric is maintained at RM288,888, the same price the car was launched with back in December 2022. Until 31 March 2024, Volvo Car Malaysia is offering an instant RM10,000 rebate on all online orders of the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric.
