Proton Shows Off R3 Concepts For The S70 And X50
The Malaysia Autoshow 2024 saw many sporty and classic Proton models on display
Our first national carmaker, Proton, has stunned audiences with the preview of not one, but two of its best selling models dressed up in R3 livery and bodykit today at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024. I am, of course, referring to the S70 sedan and the X50 SUV, both of which are powered by the same 1.5-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder Geely (officially Volvo) derived-engine in their non-R3 (read: standard) configurations.
Not only did the bodykit make both Proton cars looks far more aggressive than normal, it also looks very good, even better than normal, but I personally preferred the more muted white with a black racing stripe that the X50 sported over the much louder yellow on silver paint that the S70 was wearing despite preferring the S70 sedan over any SUV.
