Toyota Malaysia Kicks Off 2025 with Strong Sales and Performance Innovation

Toyota Malaysia shows a strong start to 2025 sales.

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has started 2025 on a high note, recording 5,383 vehicle sales in January while expanding its performance vehicle lineup with new Gazoo Racing (GR) models. The Malaysian automotive giant unveiled its latest offerings including the 2025 GR Yaris, GR Corolla, and Corolla GR Sport during the recent Toyota Gazoo Racing Season 7 closing ceremony. Most of the sales performance can be attributed to the introduction of the facelifted Corolla Cross during KLIMS 2024.

UMWT’s President, Datuk Ravindran K., highlighted the company’s strong market position, attributing the successful start to Toyota’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. “Our strong start to 2025 reflects our dedication to delivering exceptional vehicles that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” he stated, emphasizing Toyota’s legacy of quality and reliability.

The introduction of new GR models marks a significant expansion of Toyota’s performance vehicle segment in Malaysia. These vehicles bring motorsport-derived technology to everyday drivers, combining track-inspired performance with practical daily usability. The GR lineup has gained substantial traction among both driving enthusiasts and mainstream customers, establishing itself as Toyota’s premier performance division.

To make Toyota ownership more accessible, UMWT has launched “The Journey for Prosperity Begins” campaign, offering substantial savings across its model range. Customers can enjoy promotional savings of up to RM8,500, with monthly payments starting from as low as RM658. The company has also reinforced its after-sales support through the Toyota Service Savers programme, which provides maintenance plans starting at RM33 per month.

The GR brand’s growing popularity in Malaysia reflects a broader trend in the automotive market, where consumers increasingly seek vehicles that deliver both performance and practicality. The new GR Yaris and GR Corolla models feature advanced engineering that brings racing-inspired technology to the street, offering enhanced handling, agility, and driving dynamics.

Looking ahead, UMWT remains focused on strengthening its market position through continuous innovation and customer-centric approaches. The company’s commitment to delivering advanced vehicles and exceptional ownership experiences positions it well for continued success in the Malaysian automotive market.
