Omoda and Jaecoo merge and the first product that has been shown is the Omoda C7.
Omoda and Jaecoo have officially consolidated under a single unified identity—Omoda|Jaecoo—as announced during the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS2025). The brand refresh marks Jaecoo’s first anniversary in Malaysia and signals a new direction for the company as it looks to strengthen its presence in the local SUV market.

According to Omoda|Jaecoo Vice President Emily Lek, the move represents the brand’s confidence in Malaysia’s automotive sector. “This brand refresh signals our optimism for the market and the growth opportunities here,” she said. The unified brand aims to position itself as a challenger in the premium SUV space, combining sleek design with high performance and a focus on customer lifestyle needs.

In just one year, Omoda|Jaecoo has made significant strides in Malaysia, registering over 12,000 units of internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid SUVs. It has also built a nationwide network of 45 authorised dealerships to support its growing customer base. Globally, the brand now operates in 42 countries and regions, with over 1,300 showrooms and a user base of more than 500,000.

At MAS2025, the brand previewed its latest model—the Omoda C7 Neo Crossover. The C7 is expected to target the competitive C-segment crossover market in Malaysia. While full specifications have not been disclosed, the vehicle is designed to appeal to a younger, tech-savvy demographic as well as urban and off-road performance enthusiasts.

The C7 launch also aligns with Omoda|Jaecoo’s broader push into New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). During the event, the brand hosted a technical session led by Dr. David Xianqiang Lu, Chief Engineer at Chery Automobile and Director of Pre-research and Vehicle Architecture Institute. Dr. Lu, known as the innovator behind the Super Hybrid System (SHS), shared insights on the brand’s future NEV direction.

The SHS platform, previously introduced in Malaysia with the J7 PHEV, has proven capable of delivering over 1,300 km of travel on a single full charge and fuel tank. This combination of extended range and fuel efficiency is seen as a key differentiator for Omoda|Jaecoo as it continues to grow its hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicle offerings in the region.

With the debut of the C7 and a strong focus on NEV innovation, Omoda|Jaecoo is positioning itself as a dynamic, forward-looking brand in Malaysia’s evolving automotive landscape. The brand aims to offer premium design, advanced technology, and accessible electrified mobility—while maintaining an edge in the off-road and adventure SUV segments.
