It looks like used cars may not be as shiny as new EVs to Carro. They now sell Zeekr EVs.
Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand under Geely, has officially appointed Carro as its latest authorised dealer in Malaysia. Carro, whose business centred around the used car market has now pivoted toward new EVs and we wonder why that is and how this will raise any ethical considerations as Carro also owns well-respected automotive media platform paultan.org. We bring this up not out of malice, but out of concern for the erosion of trust in media. I suppose the problem is industry-wide now that the lines between media and salesperson have been blurred across the board. Carsome-owned Wapcar and Carlist also sell Neta products. The announcement was made on 16 June 2025 at Carro’s flagship store in Puchong, marking the start of a new chapter for Zeekr AND Carro.
As part of the agreement, Carro will operate four new Zeekr Space showrooms and three Carro Care workshops across Malaysia. This initiative will support sales, servicing, financing, insurance, and overall customer engagement for Zeekr vehicles.
Carro is Asia Pacific’s largest online automotive marketplace and has been a trusted name in Malaysia’s used car segment. The partnership with Zeekr marks Carro’s expansion into the new car retail segment in Malaysia, following its entry into brand-new vehicle sales in Singapore in March 2025.
Customers in Malaysia can now book two Zeekr models: the 009 luxury MPV and the X compact SUV. The Zeekr 009 is available in three variants—Executive (RM310,000 for first 500 bookings), Luxury (RM349,800), and Ultra Luxury (RM359,800). The Zeekr X is available in two trims—Premium (RM155,800) and Flagship (RM172,800). These prices are on-the-road and exclude insurance.
Zeekr currently operates showrooms in Petaling Jaya and IOI Mall Puchong. The addition of new outlets in Klang Valley, Juru Autocity, and Seremban will significantly boost brand presence. Carro’s ecosystem will further offer financing via Genie Financial Services, maintenance through Carro Care, and insurance via Coverro.
This partnership enables Zeekr to scale its premium EV offerings with reliable aftersales support, while Carro benefits from entering the new EV retail market. Zeekr aims to deliver a seamless ownership experience for customers looking to transition to electric mobility.
The collaboration also aligns with Malaysia’s broader EV adoption goals, which include tax exemptions and infrastructure development. With the backing of Carro’s established digital and service ecosystem, Zeekr customers can expect an end-to-end experience from purchase to long-term maintenance.
