A “People-First” Philosophy Driving Progress

UMWT’s enduring foundation rests on the philosophy captured by the phrase: “Toyota makes people before we make cars”. This long-term approach is focused on nurturing local human capital, strengthening the entire automotive ecosystem, and fostering industry-wide skills, ensuring the brand remains competitive, resilient, and deeply committed to the Malaysian market.

The commitment reflects Toyota’s ultimate aspiration to be the “Best in Town”—a company that earns genuine trust through the quality, care, and sincerity defining every customer interaction, whether at a showroom or a service center. Through T-TEP and the Toyota Skills Contest, UMWT continues to demonstrate its significant investment in Malaysia’s human capital to drive progress through innovation and education.
