The Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric SUVhad its media preview at the Sepang on and off road circuit for very selected media last month and now it’s open for Malaysians to make a booking.
This latest electric Porsche represents the pinnacle of what happens when Porsche throws its best engineering at an all-electric utility vehicle. Historically, the “Turbo” badge on a Porsche meant forced induction, however today, on their electric vehicles, it stands for uncompromising, top-tier performance.
If you are considering one, it boils down to wanting supercar speed wrapped in a highly practical, ultra-luxurious family friendly package that doesn’t compromise on driving dynamics.
Because the Cayenne Turbo Electric produces a high 850kW, it will sit in one of the highest Malaysian road tax bracket. Expect to pay roughly RM9,440 per year for road tax alone and this should not worry wealthy Malaysians.

The Cayenne Turbo Electric arrives as a fully imported (CBU) model from Germany, which means it will carry a high price tag (From 130,000 Euro so expected to exceed RM1 million to RM1.2 million before options).
Meanwhile, Porsche already locally assembles (CKD) other Cayenne models at its Kulim, Kedah plant with the Cayenne (Petrol V6) selling price that is RM609,000 and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe selling price at RM739,000.

So what are the numbers behind this Cayenne Turbo Electric? Well they are staggering. It delivers up to 1,156 horsepower (850 kW) and 1,500 Nm of torque. The 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) acceleration is 2.5 seconds and will hit a top speed of 260km/h (162 mph) if allowed.
This makes it one of the quickest accelerating SUVs on the planet, offering instantaneous electric torque.
Built on Porsche’s advanced Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, it features an 800-volt system. It supports DC fast charging up to 390 kW. The 10% to 80% battery charge can be completed in just 16 minutes under optimal conditions. This reduces the “waiting around” penalty usually associated with a large electric vehicle.

Many electric SUVs are fast in a straight line but feel like heavy, disconnected boats in the corners. Porsche counteracts this with sophisticated chassis technology. It has adaptive air suspension that features twin-valve dampers to balance luxury car comfort with razor-sharp handling.
It also has standard rear-axle steering (up to 5 degrees) which makes this large SUV agile and easy to park, mimicking the turning radius of a much smaller car.
The interior is a tech-lover’s dream, featuring an array of beautifully integrated digital displays. A curved 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster directly in the driver’s line of sight. A 14.9-inch front passenger touchscreen that allows your passenger to stream video or manage navigation without distracting the driver (the screen has a special filter so it is invisible from the driver’s angle).
You should buy the Cayenne Turbo Electric if you want a zero-emissions daily driver that can easily embarrass dedicated sports. It’s the ultimate “one-car garage” solution for those who refuse to compromise on performance.
