Jetour Shows GAIA Intelligent Off-Road Architecture, G700 And G900 At Auto Shanghai

Will any future Jetour models coming to Malaysia feature the GAIA system?

Jetour Auto Malaysia had recently invited us to join their brand’s presentation and launch event at the recent Shanghai Autoshow 2025 and while we knew the brand had big news to share, what it showed blew our minds in ways we never really expected as their presentation was way bigger than we thought it would be.

So, at Auto Shanghai 2025, Jetour unveiled its innovative GAIA Intelligent Off-Road Architecture, marking a bold step into the brand’s premium and intelligent 3.0 era. Alongside this debut, Jetour introduced two bold and stylish SUVs, namely the G700 and G900, both built on the new GAIA platform, redefining what off-road performance and luxury can be.

Moreover, Jetour is a premium off-road brand and some of its models embody this notion almost perfectly. The GAIA system further pushes the brand to the very top of this game and is proof of why the brand has rapidly emerged as one of the fastest-growing automotive startups worldwide, achieving sales of over 560,000 units in 2024, a remarkable 80.3 percent year-on-year growth.

The Jetour GAIA architecture features 2 distinct state-of-the-art powertrains. The first is the iDM-O Super Hybrid System, optimized for fuel-efficient, high-performance off-road driving and the second is the iEM-O Amphibious Range Extender System, capable of producing an astonishing 18,000 Nm of torque and 2,500N of thrust, allowing it to even wade water.

The GAIA architecture also includes adjustable suspension travel up to 150mm, a maximum ground clearance of 350mm, tank-turning, crab-walk mode and full amphibious functionality. Complementing its hardware, GAIA are six major innovations, from low-orbit satellite communication to AI-powered cockpits, onboard oxygen generation and even OTA updates.

On top of that, the Jetour G700 features the iDM-O hybrid system paired to a 2.0TD engine, delivering up to 210kW of power and 6,446Nm of torque, ideal for challenging terrains. The G900, meanwhile, is an ultra-premium, amphibious-capable SUV with a quad-motor vector drivetrain, smart oxygen cabin and, of course, marine-grade systems.

Jetour is poised to not just lead the hybrid off-road revolution, but completely redefine travel (get it? Because of Jetour’s Travel+ thing?). As it continues to innovate new era technologies and intelligent systems like the GAIA architecture, the G700 and G900, Jetour now represents a new frontier in mobility.

Despite this we still have to ask, how soon will Malaysia be able to enjoy the new GAIA architecture in Jetour models sold in the country? WIll we ever receive this tech here at all? Let’s wait and see.
