Alfa Romeo Starts Q1 Of 2025 With Strong Sales

Will Alfa Romeo be as successful when it returns to Malaysia though?

Alfa Romeo has been slowly mounting a comeback to Malaysia and while it is still not making noise here yet, the brand managed to close the first quarter of 2025 on a high note, reporting strong global growth and reinforcing its ongoing international expansion. So will it be as successful when it returns to our market or is this only for other markets?

Available in over 70 markets worldwide, Alfa Romeo saw a 29 percent increase in deliveries this year to end customers compared to the same period in 2024. This growth was especially notable in Enlarged Europe, which surged by 43 percent, and in the Middle East and Africa, which posted a 9 percent rise.

Moreover, central to this success has been the Alfa Romeo Junior. Offering the most comprehensive line-up in its segment, the Junior is available in two all-electric versions (making either 156hp or 280hp), a 145hp hybrid model as well as the newly launched Ibrida Q4.

Just months after its debut across 38 countries, the Alfa Romeo Junior has already received 35,000 orders, 18 percent of which are for the EV models. Its popularity, particularly among European customers, has driven momentum across the brand’s broader line-up, including the Tonale, Giulia and Stelvio.

On top of that, March 2025 marked a significant milestone for Alfa Romeo, becoming the brand’s best sales month since June 2019. Over 8,700 vehicles were sold globally, marking a 33 percent year-over-year increase. Additionally, the brand achieved its highest European market share (EU30) since 2018, reaching 0.5 percent, up 0.15 percentage points from March 2024.

Alfa Romeo CEO Santo Ficili said, “The first quarter of 2025 brought excellent commercial results, driven by our team’s passion and dedication. The Junior, with 35,000 orders, is a clear signal of the brand’s future. As we prepare to unveil the next-generation Stelvio and Giulia, I want to extend my thanks to our dealers and partners for their continued commitment to our ambitious goals.”

So the first quarter of 2025 was very good for Alfa Romeo, reflecting both strong market performance and growing customer engagement. This means the brand is entering 2025 with all the confidence in the world and we couldn’t be more glad. We hope this expedites the process of the brand’s reentry here. What about you?
