What has Roslan Abdullah got planned for GWM
It was on the 6th of January 2022 that PROTON announced the appointment of Roslan Abdullah, to the post of Deputy Chief Executive Officer and this is where he got noticed by Malaysians as the man leading the PROTON transformation.
He was at every PROTON launch, media gathering, media preview, customer engagement event and more (when did he ever rest).
He was tireless in his pursuit to make PROTON a national pride like it was in its early years.
Before rising to this position, Roslan was the Vice President, Sales and Marketing for PROTON as well as Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar Sdn Bhd (PESB), roles he had held since 1 June 2020.

Prior to his PROTON engagement, Roslan was President and Chief Operating Officer at Honda Malaysia, and before that he was Chief Financial Officer at Modenas.
The young and eager Roslan Abdullah joined DRB-Hicom in 2019. Roslan also served as General Manager of DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies at DRB-Hicom.
A Finance & Accountancy degree holder from the University of Brighton, United Kingdom, Roslan has over three decades of experience in the automotive sector including earlier appointments at Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS) and ISUZU HICOM Malaysia.
We first met Roslan when he was the President and Chief Operating Officer at Honda Malaysia in December 2012 (see picture below) and he left that position in June 2019. But he was behind the scenes in Honda Malaysia from August 2009 to August 2011 as the General Manager Finance.

Now after 5 years as the CEO of Proton Edar, it looks like Roslan is heading to a bigger role at an expanding automotive brand in Malaysia. He is replaced at Proton Edar by Ainol Azmil.
We will be seeing Roslan in Great Wall Motor Malaysia from the 9th of June 2025 and we at www.dsf.my , www.automacha.com and www.gohedgostan.com wishes him all the very best in his new role.
