This e:HEV battery price is just a fraction of the replacement battery on a full electric vehicle
Right now, no electric car manufacturer will share the cost of battery replacement for their full electric vehicle. They will instead share the long battery warranty details and some will even make claims of a lifetime warranty ……. which lifetime please?
Meanwhile, Honda Malaysia has always been transparent about their battery costs (hybrid battery) and from the start of their hybrid vehicle introduction in Malaysia they shared with us the costs to replace a battery after the warranty runs out.
Yes, even more recently, in February 2023 they shared with www.dsf.my the cost of hybrid battery replacement on their popular hybrid models which have been on sale in Malaysia from 21 years ago which was as follows.
1. Honda Insight battery replacement price is just RM3,980.00
2. Honda Jazz Hybrid battery replacement price is just also RM3,980.00 (since its shares its technology with the Insight
3. Honda CR-Z MMC…the compact hatchback, battery replacement price is RM5,480.00 and the older CR-Z just RM3,980.00
4. Honda Civic Hybrid battery replacement price is just RM5,480.00
(please note that prices vary yearly according to currency exchange and raw material costs)
So, new Honda e:HEV owners right now need not worry, but for some Malaysians looking to buy a CR-V or City with e:HEV in a few years time from the used car market, they now have the replacement battery cost (if needed as it might just last 10-12 years easily).
