Avoid Petaling Jaya this weekend, it will be closed off for the marathon.
Petaling Jaya residents and road users should prepare for temporary road closures and traffic diversions this weekend as the PJ Half Marathon 2025 takes place across the city.

Preparations Begin Saturday Evening
Event setup will start tomorrow, 6pm, with the closure of Jalan Yong Shook Lin in front of the MBPJ headquarters. This road will remain closed until Sunday at noon. Motorists heading to Section 14 and Seapark are advised to use Jalan Barat, while those travelling to central PJ should take Jalan 222.

Race Day Rolling Closures
On Sunday, from 3.30am to 9am, multiple city roads will be subject to rolling closures to allow runners to compete safely. Key roads affected include:
- Jalan Sultan
- Jalan Barat
- Jalan Utara
- Jalan Timur
- Jalan Gasing
- Jalan Templer
- Jalan Changgai
Motorists using Jalan Universiti, Jalan Kemajuan, and Persiaran Barat should expect delays.

Neighbourhood Street Closures
Several smaller connecting streets will also be closed during the event, such as:
- Jalan SS1/36
- Jalan 20/13
- Jalan 14/47
These closures are aimed at ensuring runner safety and smooth race operations.

Traffic Management in Place
Traffic police and MBPJ personnel will be deployed throughout the event to guide drivers, manage diversions, and maintain road safety. Authorities are urging the public to follow all traffic instructions and plan alternative routes in advance.

Plan Ahead to Avoid Delays
With thousands of runners expected to participate, congestion is likely around the race route. Motorists should factor in extra travel time, especially in the early hours of Sunday morning, and consider avoiding the affected areas until roads fully reopen.

The PJ Half Marathon is one of the city’s most anticipated sporting events, drawing participants from across the Klang Valley and beyond. While the temporary closures may cause short-term inconvenience, they are essential for ensuring the safety and success of this annual race.
