Did you know that just 1,922 units were produced between 1969 and 1972 making a very rare BMW.

So, this 1969 BMW 2000 tii is widely considered a classic car, and it was indeed a classic in its time, significant for introducing fuel injection to a BMW production car.

The “tii” designation stood for “Touring International i” and signaled the use of Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection, a groundbreaking technology for the brand and a major upgrade from previous models.

Key aspects that make the 1969 BMW 2000 tii a classic:

It was the first BMW production car to feature mechanical fuel injection, significantly improving performance and fuel economy over the carbureted versions.

The fuel-injected engine provided a noticeable boost in power and responsiveness compared to the standard 2000 model.

The BMW 2000 tii was part of the “Neue Klasse” (New Class) sedan series, known for its modern design that broke away from traditional BMW styling and contributed to the brand’s image as a maker of sporty, high-quality cars.

The 2000 tii was a crucial step in BMW’s history, paving the way for future performance models and solidifying the company’s reputation in the automotive world.

As a relatively limited-production model that was a significant departure from standard BMWs, it is highly sought after by collectors today
