Lee Wen Hsiang Leaves MG For Another Chinese Auto Brand

Wen Hsiang USED To Be The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SAIC Motor Malaysia

News just in that SAIC Motor Malaysia gets the former strongman from Mitsubishi Malaysia, Hoffen Teh to head the team. Hoffen Yin Ben The was the Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Production Planning, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd since the brand opened its doors in Malaysia decades ago. We still remember him launching the popular Mitsubishi Lancer GT (which became the Proton Inspira).

Meanwhile, it is interesting that Wen Hsiang who was in Audi Malaysia for considerable time made the move to Chery Auto and then SAIC Motor Malaysia, and only for a short stint.

Wen Hsiang’s best Audi moment was when he was in front of the launch of the Audi e-tron GT, the Audi electric supercar back in February 2023.

Now, he is taking on the position of Vice President, Chery Malaysia which was vacated by Micheal Chew who has moved up the automotive ladder.

Lee was involved in the expansion of SAIC Motor Malaysia’s reach, including the development of a comprehensive dealer network to enhance customer accessibility to the MG brand.

A significant part of his role was ensuring customer satisfaction and building a strong community around the MG brand by gathering feedback and improving after sales services.

He was involved in the launch of four new MG dealerships in October 2024, bringing the total to 15 and expanding the network to 35 locations nationwide.

Lee was present at key events, such as the celebration of MG’s 100th anniversary, which included the launch of the MG Cyberster in Malaysia.

He also oversaw the strengthening of MG’s after-sales support with the launch of a new parts warehouse in the Klang Valley to reduce customer waiting time.

Now, we will see him at the front of the new generation Chery hybrid and electric vehicles (again!) and more.
