This update is part of Volvo Car Malaysia’s broader strategy to refresh its entire lineup for Model Year 2026, reinforcing its focus on delivering cars that combine safety, performance, and sustainability.

XC90: Power, Price, and Premium Comfort

The new XC90 continues to be offered in two top-tier powertrain options, the T8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and the B5 mild hybrid (MHEV). Both variants feature a 2.0L engine mated to an eight-speed Geartronic transmission, powering all-wheel drive (AWD).

  • XC90 Ultra T8 PHEV: Priced at RM434,888, the T8 variant delivers a maximum combined power of 462hp and 709Nm of torque. It offers impressive efficiency with fuel consumption as low as 1.8L/100km.
  • XC90 Ultra B5 MHEV: This mild hybrid option is offered at RM418,888, providing a maximum of 249hp of power and 350Nm of torque.

Both XC90 variants come equipped with the highest Ultra trim, which includes a host of luxurious and advanced features: a 11.2-inch centre display with the next-generation Volvo Cars UX, a 12.3-inch driver display, and a head-up display. Comfort features include Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity audio, powered and ventilated front seats with memory function, four-way lumbar support, a panoramic sunroof with a powered sunshade, and four-zone climate control. Safety is guaranteed with next-generation Pilot Assist featuring adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera.

Broader 2026 Model Year Updates

The refreshed XC90 joins other significant updates in the 2026 lineup:

  • Single Motor EC40: The Volvo EC40, the brand’s first electric-only crossover SUV, is now available with a single motor variant in Ultra trim, priced at RM248,888. This variant features a 175kW (238hp) rear electric motor, achieving 0–100km/h in 7.3s and a range of up to 488km (WLTP) from a 70 kWh battery. It can fast charge from 10–80% in just 26 minutes.
  • Refreshed XC60: The refreshed XC60 T8 AWD PHEV and B5 AWD MHEV have confirmed pricing starting from RM362,888 and RM328,888, respectively. The T8 PHEV offers up to 89 kilometres of pure electric driving (WLTP).
  • New User Interface (UX): All 2026 models feature the new Volvo Car UX user interface, standard globally. This refined system enhances ease of use with a vertical centre display layout, larger buttons, and contextual dynamic shortcuts.

Volvo Car Malaysia’s Managing Director, Chris Wailes, also mentioned preparing for an “exciting milestone” with the brand’s first-ever, fully electric sedan for Malaysia. The complete refreshed and electrified SUV lineup is available at all Volvo showrooms nationwide.
