Jetour T2 SUV Scores Perfect 5-Star Rating In ASEAN NCAP Crash Tests

The Jetour T2, a rugged off-road SUV under the Chery Group, has made a smashing debut in regional safety assessments by securing a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating.

The Jetour T2 is the first model from the brand to undergo the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) evaluation. The assessment was conducted under the rigorous 2021-2025 protocol, which concluded its final phase with this test and a full 5-star rating.

High Scores Across All Categories

The Jetour T2 achieved an impressive overall score of 86.50 points, performing strongly across all four main assessment pillars:

  • Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): 37.17 points
  • Child Occupant Protection (COP): 15.94 points
  • Safety Assist (SA): 17.14 points
  • Motorcyclist Safety (MS): 16.25 points

ASEAN NCAP praised the SUV for successfully “bridging the gap between adventure-ready design and uncompromising safety,” offering consumers a robust option that aligns with active lifestyles without sacrificing occupant protection.

Comprehensive Safety Equipment

The 5-star rating is underpinned by a generous list of safety features. The Jetour T2 comes equipped with the following standard fitment across all variants:

  • 6 Airbags
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) & Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Child Presence Detection (CPD): A crucial feature that alerts drivers if a child is left unattended in the vehicle.
  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD): Fitted on both driver and passenger sides to protect motorcyclists.
  • Pedestrian Protection (PP)
  • ISOFIX for child seats

For advanced driver assistance, the SUV offers a suite of optional active safety technologies, including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) for City, Inter-Urban, Pedestrians, and Motorcycles, as well as Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).

Closing the 2021-2025 Protocol

The evaluation of the Jetour T2 serves as one of the final assessments under the current 2021-2025 ASEAN NCAP protocol. Moving forward, vehicles tested from January 2026 onwards will be subject to the new, potentially stricter 2026-2030 assessment protocol.
