The Tank 300L adds a new long wheelbase configuration for the popular off-roader SUV.
The Tank 300 has been one of Great Wall Motors’ greatest successes and now they’re adding more variants as part of its major mid-lifecycle overhaul. The updated lineup introduces a dedicated long-wheelbase “Tank 300L” series designed to bridge urban commuting with off-road utility alongside new high-torque diesel and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains.
The new series launches with five distinct configurations in its home market:
- Tank 300 Challenger (2.0T Gasoline): 199,800 yuan
- Tank 300 Conqueror (2.0T Gasoline): 216,800 yuan
- Tank 300 2.4T Diesel: 234,800 yuan
- Tank 300L Hi4-T (PHEV): 249,800 yuan
- Tank 300L Hi4-Z (PHEV): 259,800 yuan
Standard-Wheelbase: Gasoline & High-Torque 2.4T Diesel Capabilities
The standard-wheelbase variants (retaining the 2,750 mm wheelbase) maintain the vehicle’s rugged off-road geometry, featuring electronic 4H and 4L modes, crawl control, and tank turn assist.
- 2.0T Gasoline Models: Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission (9AT), producing 162 kW (217 hp) and 380 Nm of torque.
- 2.4T Turbodiesel Model: Engineered specifically for long-distance overland expeditions and low-speed torque delivery, the 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine generates 135 kW (181 hp) and a massive 480 Nm of torque mated to the same 9AT. This variant incorporates enhanced sound insulation materials and optimized cold-start systems.
Long-Wheelbase Tank 300L: High-Performance Hi4-T and Hi4-Z Hybrids
The newly introduced Tank 300L stretches the wheelbase by 260 mm to 3,010 mm, pushing overall vehicle length to 4,886 mm to dramatically improve rear passenger legroom and overall cabin comfort. The extended platform houses GWM’s advanced hybrid electrification suites:
The range-topping Hi4-Z utilizes a dual-motor electric AWD layout paired with a large 59.6 kWh battery, yielding an extraordinary 751 hp total output that propels the body-on-frame SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
Next-Gen Digital Cockpit and Autonomous Driving Hardware
The interior receives a major tech overhaul centered around a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a floating 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen running GWM’s Coffee OS 3 AI system.
Hybrid variants are heavily equipped for advanced driver assistance, packing 27 sensors including a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, 3 millimeter-wave radars, 11 HD cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Powered by Coffee Pilot 3, the hybrid models support full-scenario Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), Sentry Mode, and an optional Coffee Night Vision 2.0 far-infrared system.
Designed with outdoor enthusiasts in mind, the updated series supports up to 6 kW external V2L power discharge, a certified 2.5-tonne towing capacity, and factory-installed IoT expansion modules for spotlights, tents, and satellite communication tools.
