Residents in Selangor who love speed and excitement just got something a bit different and honestly it feels like a glimpse of where entertainment might be heading next.
Evolt has officially launch its new immersive concept called Evolt XR, and it’s not your usual go-kart or laser tag experience. This one blends the physical and virtual worlds together in a way that actually feels quite fresh for Malaysia.
The main attraction is the XR Go-Karting. At first, it sounds like normal karting, but once you put on the VR headset, everything changes. You will still be driving a real electric kart but what makes a difference is you’ll see something different, a complete virtual environment with digital tracks, obstacle and even what’s happening in real time. From what I see, it’s trying to turn something familiar into something way more interactive.

Then there’s XR Laser Tag, which is a bit easier to imagine. It’s still laser tag, but instead of a physical arena, you’re inside a virtual battlefield. You move around in real life, but everything you see is part of the game. It feels more like stepping into a video game rather than just playing one. Compared to the usual laser tag experience, this one feels more engaging and slightly more intense.
Both of these experiences are currently available at Evolt Karting, which is their main location. The brand itself is still quite new, founded in 2023 by Weiron Tan who is also a professional racing driver, but it has already grown quite quickly with a strong focus on electric karting and tech-driven entertainment. With Evolt XR, it feels like they are trying to push beyond just racing and move into something more lifestyle and social.

To get more people to try it out, they are offering a 30% discount on XR experiences when you book a karting session during the launch period, which runs until the end of April 2026. It’s a smart move because this kind of concept is something you probably need to experience first before really understanding it.

From my perspective, this isn’t just about fun or gaming. It shows how Malaysia’s entertainment scene is slowly evolving, especially with more tech-driven experiences coming in. People are looking for something more interactive, not just passive activities. If concepts like this continue to grow, it could open up a new segment in the Malaysia market where entertainment, gaming, and even motorsports start to overlap in a more meaningful way just like how Esport has become globally.
