Hyundai-SIME DARBY MOTORS Awarded Distributor Of The Year 2010 By Hyundai Motor Company

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) was recently awarded the Distributor of the Year 2010 by Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) for its qualified category, at the 2011 Global Distributors Convention that was held in Banff, Canada. A spokesperson of Hyundai Motor Company said the award is well-deserved as HSDM has demonstrated its ability to increase Hyundai’s market share in Malaysia within a short period of time through its innovative services and creative marketing activities. The award was presented to HSDM by Vice Chairman of HMC, Mr. Eui-Sun Chung.
Dato’ Lawrence Lee, Sime Darby’s Executive Vice President, Motors Division and Mr. Dennis Ho, Managing Director of Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors Sdn. Bhd. expressed their gratitude to HMC for the award and also to employees of Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) who have worked hard in helping the company achieve this success.
“I am very proud of the team at HSDM and the milestones that the company has achieved through its efforts to change the brand value and positioning of the Hyundai brand,” said Dato’ Lee. “HSDM, in line with HMC’s new brand direction, ‘New Thinking, New Possibilities’ has demonstrated its ability to give customers a whole new experience of owning a car, apart from the modern premium concept of new Hyundai cars. Some examples include privileges for customers to preview new Hyundai cars that we are launching and facilitating their participation in the company’s CSR programmes such as Blood Donation Drives.” Dato’ Lee noted that the consolidation of Hyundai operations in Malaysia and the 2010 launch of the YF Sonata and LM Tucson were milestone events that contributed to the dramatic sales growth achieved by HSDM. The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) recently reported that Hyundai vehicle sales had increased by more than 38% from 2009 to 2010.  For the period from January to May 2011 more than 5400 Hyundai vehicles have been sold, which equates to a 36.7% growth year-on-year.
HSDM has a network of over one hundred dealerships all over Malaysia and more than 10 3S (Sales, Service and Spare Parts) centres in the country. The company is also focused on expanding its network of dealerships with more 3S Centres throughout Malaysia. In conjunction with the recent award, HSDM is rewarding all its customers by giving out service discount vouchers with a minimum spend when they visit any of Hyundai’s authorized service centres between 1st August till 31th October 2011.
