Jetour T1 Launched In Malaysia, Two Engine Choices From RM129,800

The Jetour T1 puts an ‘urban’ spin on the very popular T2 and brings the price down a notch.

Jetour has turned out to be the dark horse in this new era of automotive players from China. While the brand itself is extremely new, they’ve managed to climb up the sales charts to become the fifth best selling Chinese brand in Malaysia in the first half of 2026 thanks in no small part to their rugged and styling T2 SUV. Now they’re bringing similar styling to a lower price tier with the launch of the Jetour T1 nearly 3 months after the order books were opened.

The Jetour T1 is available in two variants, the 1.5L TGDi 2WD and the 2.0L TGDi XWD. The former is priced at RM129,800 while the latter comes in at RM146,800. While it’s priced and positioned lower in relation to the T2, it’s actually not a bad alternative considering this is targeted at city dwellers with only the higher spec model having some mild off-roading capabilities. Despite its monocoque chassis, the design actually gives it some ability to traverse challenging landscape with its 28-degree approach angle, 29-degree departure angle and 200mm ground clearance. The T1 is also rated for 700mm of water wading depth. It is smaller than the T2 in most metrics except wheelbase, where it matches the T2.

The 1.5L engine has an output of 170PS and 270Nm of torque, which it sends to the front wheels via a 7-speed DCT. The 2.0L power unit ups the output to 245PS and 375Nm of torque and sends power to all wheels with a similar transmission set-up but with 7X modes for varying terrain conditions. Spending extra for the larger engine and all-wheel drive may seem excessive, but it makes sense when you look at the additional equipment that you’re getting. The sound system goes from a generic 8-speaker system to a Sony 9-speaker system. The 18″ alloys get upgraded to 19″ alloys. The 12.8″ infotainment system gets replaced by a 15.6″ one. On top of that, you also get a panoramic sunroof, welcome lamps, driver memory seat with welcome function, and a front passenger power seat with leg rest.

That being said, the 1.5L model isn’t poorly specified at all with standard equipment including:

  • 6 SRS Airbags
  • ADAS Level 2 Safety
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
  • Panoramic View Monitoring System
  • Full LED Headlamps & Taillamps
  • Power Tailgate
  • Leatherette Seats
  • Driver Power Seat
  • Front Ventilated Seats
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay®& Android Auto™
  • 50W Wireless Charger
  • 7 USB Ports

Jetour Malaysia is offering the T1 in just four colours: Khaki White, Aviation Silver, Sand Gold and Carbon Black. You get a 7-year / 150,000 km vehicle warranty, a 10-year / 1,000,000 km powertrain warranty, and five complimentary maintenance services with your purchase. The first 2,000 customers get an RM2,000 rebate on the car along with financing rates at 1.68%.
