Chevron Malaysia Limited (“Chevron”), which operates the retail brand Caltex™, is on schedule with its B5 biodiesel offering in line with the Malaysian Government’s mandate to offer a blend of 5 percent palm methyl ester (PME) and 95 percent of diesel in Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur by November 1.
“Chevron is well-positioned to ensure a timely and seamless implementation of B5 across the Central region. In line with our commitment towards quality fuels, our B5 offering will feature the proven cleaning power of Techron®D. We are also working closely with the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board to monitor consumer feedback and awareness”, said Jeremy Oh, Country Chairman, Chevron Malaysia Limited.
Chevron’s B5 biodiesel blending facility in Pulau Indah, which took eight months to complete, is already fully operational. A total of 29 service stations in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan already offer the Caltex biodiesel offering with Techron®D, with 73 to come by November.
